A chance to own one of the increasingly rare "Dunkirk Little Ships".
This boat has a staggering history which has been research by the present owner who has spent long years restoring and maintaining her.
I'm told that German boats are referred to in the masculine gender so this one is a 'He' and not a 'She' as is the normal custom in UK. When I visited this boat it was clear that he will stand out and attract a lot of attention wherever he goes. Designed by the Royal Navy a copy of the plans got to Germany where it was Built by the German Imperial Navy for the Kaiser. Originally capable of 32 Knots to keep up with the battle cruisers of the day and serve as an Admirals Barge. It survived the Battle of Jutland where it was on the German Battle Cruiser Lutzow. It was rescued by the Royal Navy in June 1919 when on the Hindenburg during the scuttling of the German fleet at Scapa-Flow. They attached a rope around the foredeck windlass and beached it. Years later it was dispatched to Dunkirk where it saved some 810 British troops ironically from German fire. It has strong links with the Royal Engineers as a result of bringing 38 of them all the way back. There is much more detailed history which has been researched by the owner and others.
