Boatshed Barcelona in Regata Columbretes
On May 15-16 the annual Regatta Columbretes Cohimar took place. This regatta runs from Vilanova i la Geltrú to the oil drilling platform about 20 miles out to sea between Tarragona and the Delta of the Ebro. It is one of the regattas that count for the Catalan sailing championship singlehanded and with 1 crew.
There were almost 60 boats at the start. Gert Van den Bergh, the owner of Boatshed Barcelona, took part in the regatta as one of the crew on board “Hoja de Parra”, one of the boats of Rumbo Libre. As the total distance of the regatta was almost 70 miles, the plan was to sail one day and part of the night.
However, from the moment the start sign was given, the wind gods turned on the turbines and haven’t given less than 25 knots with gusts of 35 knots all the time. As we had the wind on a reach most of the time, it was a very fast regatta and we were back in the marina in less than 11 hours.
Some of the boats that are for sale by Boatshed Barcelona also participated, notably the Furia 302 and the Salona 37.
In Boatshed Barcelona, we believe that it’s not only important to view and photograph a boat in the marina, but we also enjoy the opportunity to really test the boats we offer for sale…
