The boat is powered by a DAF 575 diesel engine,
a 6-cylinder inline, naturally aspirated unit rated at around 120 HP, built in 1980 (information provided by the owner).
This engine type is widely used on inland barges and classic Dutch motor cruisers, and is well known for its robustness and long service life when properly maintained.
Cooling – Keel cooling
The engine is fitted with a keel cooling system:
the coolant runs in a closed circuit through an external pipe along the hull, where it transfers its heat to the surrounding water before returning to the engine.
Compared with a conventional raw-water system, this offers several advantages, especially for inland and shallow-water cruising:
No raw-water pump or intercooler: fewer components, reduced risk of fouling, scaling or blockage by debris.

Based on the visible construction style and interior layout, it is believed to have been built by Bekkema, a Dutch craftsman and shipbuilder known to have worked in the Delfzijl area during that era.

From what could be observed during the visit, the boat seems to be in very good overall condition for its age.
The exterior paintwork appears to have been refreshed recently by the owner, as well as the interior flooring, giving the boat a clean and well-maintained appearance.
The DAF engine has reportedly been serviced on a regular basis, according to the owner, which is reassuring for this type of proven and durable diesel engine.

The interior offers two cabins, a fully equipped galley, separate toilets, and a dedicated shower room, providing a comfortable layout for extended trips.
