Selling a boat: My story

Selling a boat: My story

Wednesday, 13 March 2013

This was Tony Farrow’s boat, which was for sale with Boatshed Grand Union. It’s a 50ft cruiser stern narrowboat with wheelhouse and has an unusual and very attractive fit-out in cherry, chestnut and sycamore. Tony is a professional carpenter and refurbished the interior himself. He’s pictured here after painting the boat and blacking the hull. The boat is open plan with a separate bedroom cabin at the front.

The Floating Market is Open!

Wednesday, 01 August 2012

The trading boats have now gathered at Mile End on the Regent’s Canal in London creating a most unusual market. Strangely reminiscent of Neil Gaiman’s floating market, (featured in the 1996 urban fantasy TV series Neverwhere,) it is a vibrant and colourful place. This is all part of the changes to London’s canals during the period of the Olympics.
